Saint Leo School will be providing lunch for The Catholic Action Center’s Compassionate Caravan On Wednesday, January 25th we will make sandwiches and provide some snacks and juice boxes for those without a home. Please send the following in on Tuesday, January 24th. Grade 3- Please send in 2 packs of juice boxes Grade 4- Please send in 1 loaf of bread Grade 5- Please send in a box of individually wrapped snacks such as peanut butter crackers, chips, granola bars. Save the date for Grandparent's Day, Friday, Nov. 11. On this day we are inviting Grandparents (or other special family members) to come to school for some activities beginning at 10:00. Families will rotate through a presentation in the church, listen to children perform songs in the parish hall, and have a chance to visit our Book Fair in the Library. It is early release beginning at 11:30 so we hope children can enjoy lunch out with their grandparents. We hope you can join us for Grandparents Day on Friday, Nov. 11 at 10:00.

Saint Leo and The Catholic Action Center Since Covid, the participation of volunteers has gone down and needs have increased at the Catholic Action Center. Here are some ways Saint Leo School is planning to help. Sandwich making project- Students will make sandwiches for the CAC on Nov. 9- Grades 6 and 7, Jan 18- Grade 8, Feb. 8- Grades 4 and 5. I will ask other grades to provide peanut butter, jelly, bread and snacks. Any other Saint Leo group is also welcome to pick a date and email Ginny to let her know you are making sandwiches. [email protected] Sleeping Bag Drive- The number of those living without a home has also increased. With colder temps, the Compassion Caravan is in need of sleeping bags. 2022 St Leo Parish - Feeding the Hungry “Feed my sheep” - John 21:17 As a parish, we will be collecting different food items over the 5 weeks leading to Thanksgiving and distributing food boxes on Saturday, November 19th to help Woodford County families in need prepare a good meal to kick off the holiday season. Last year about 150 families received boxes. In addition to food, you may participate in this ministry by contributing your prayers and cash donations, used to purchase fresh food and meat. Please consider what you can “do without” to make a difference in the lives of those who have so little (checks may be made to St Leo Parish). Thank you in advance for being part of this miracle…and for reaching out to those who are most vulnerable in our midst. Donations may be dropped off in the school office. St. Leo School would like to welcome our newest faculty & staff members. Beginning Nov. 1st, Mrs. Georgeanna Jarvis will be our middle school social studies teacher, 7th grade math teacher, and K-8 computer teacher. She comes to us with 8 years of experience teaching middle and high school students. Mrs. Jennifer Perry has already begun working as a PreK assistant in the 3 year old room. Mrs. Perry has a history with St. Leo School and we are excited to welcome her back. To both Mrs. Jarvis and Mrs. Perry, warmest wishes for an amazing remainder of the school year!
